BetConstruct AI has won the Best Online Sportsbook Provider award at the SiGMA Africa Awards 2026, held on 3 March at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town. The company beat four shortlisted rivals — Uplatform, Altenar, SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, and GR8 Tech — to take the title, with the result announced during the awards ceremony that forms part of the annual SiGMA Africa summit.
Award Context and Recent Recognition
The SiGMA Africa Awards, supported by Alea, determine winners through a combination of judge votes (70%) and public voting (30%), with the 2026 voting period closing on 23 February ahead of the Cape Town ceremony. BetConstruct AI was shortlisted in two categories at this year’s edition — Best Online Sportsbook Provider and Best Innovation in Sports Betting — converting one into a win.
The result extends a recent run of industry recognition. BetConstruct AI won the Innovative Sportsbook Solution 2025 award at SiGMA Central Europe 2025. In February 2026, the company took a double at AIBC Eurasia Dubai 2026, where its affiliate platform Affigates was named Best Affiliate Software and co-founder Vigen Badalyan received the Hall of Game award.
The Platform Behind the Win
The sportsbook award reflects BetConstruct AI’s product development push over the past year. The company’s operator offer centres on the BetConstruct AI Suite — CRM AI for behavioural analytics and player retention, Umbrella AI for real-time risk management and automated player protection, an AI Game Recommendation System for personalised content delivery, and Betting Mate, an AI companion providing live stats and insights to players. The suite is supported by CMS Pro for centralised operational management and SpringBuilder X, a mobile-first website builder for operator sites.
At SiGMA Africa 2026, the company exhibited at Stand N 062, running demonstrations across the two-day summit and hosting the Harmony Dinner at Cabo Beach on the evening of 4 March for operators and industry executives attending the event.
Main Partner Across the Global SiGMA Awards Series
BetConstruct AI also carries the main partner designation across the full SiGMA Awards 2026 calendar. Following Cape Town, the series continues in São Paulo (April), Manila (June), Mexico City (September), and across Europe and South Asia later in the year — six regional ceremonies in total. The Africa edition was the first of those commitments to deliver a result, and the first where BetConstruct AI itself entered the awards as a nominee.
The win comes as African iGaming attracts increasing B2B supplier attention, with multiple European-headquartered providers accelerating their regional presence through local partnerships, product localisation, and event participation. Europe’s regulated market generated €123.4bn in GGR in 2024, but growth rates in emerging markets including Africa are drawing suppliers toward longer-term positioning outside their established footprints.
