The transaction, finalized on September 15, follows regulatory approval granted by the Nevada Gaming Commission in May 2025. During the same approval process, Merkur Group secured licensing to manufacture and distribute Merkur products across Nevada, establishing a foundation for direct market access in one of the world’s most regulated gaming jurisdictions.
“The acquisition is a key element of our re-entry strategy into the U.S. market, one of the most respected and strictly regulated gaming markets worldwide,” said Dominik Raasch, Management Board Member at Merkur Games. “With Gaming Arts, we are now able to place Merkur products directly in a wide range of U.S. jurisdictions. This marks an important step in expanding our international growth beyond European borders.”
Gaming Arts brings a 68-member team specializing in the development of slot machines, games, bingo and keno solutions, and electronic table games tailored to U.S. market demands. The company is recognized for its technological innovation and maintains licensing across more than 155 jurisdictions nationwide.
The acquisition allows Merkur Group to integrate its cabinet offerings into the U.S. market, beginning with the recent launch of the Mod Ex family featuring Gaming Arts game content. This product synergy positions both companies to deliver localized gaming experiences backed by international operational scale.
“This partnership elevates everything we’re doing at Gaming Arts,” said Robert Ziems, CEO of Gaming Arts. “With Merkur’s global reach and resources behind us, we are positioned to deliver bold innovation and world-class execution like never before. We’re energized, aligned, and ready to write the next great chapter in this company’s story.”
Gaming Arts’ established presence includes a national distribution network and long-standing customer relationships across land-based gaming venues. The company’s operational expertise and regulatory compliance infrastructure provide Merkur Group with immediate market access and growth potential in North America.
“Gaming Arts is licensed in more than 155 jurisdictions and has extensive operational expertise,” said Lars Felderhoff, Chairman of the Management Board of the Merkur Group. “This facilitates exciting growth opportunities in North America, strengthens synergies within Merkur Group, and contributes meaningfully to our global expansion.”
The acquisition represents Merkur Group’s first major U.S. market move since obtaining its Nevada manufacturing and distribution license, signaling the company’s commitment to establishing a long-term presence in the North American gaming sector.
