Annual Financial Performance
Net gaming revenue for 2025 reached SEK7.69bn ($850.4m), representing a 2% increase from the prior year’s SEK7.57bn ($837.1m). Operating profit rose to SEK2.5bn ($280.7m), up SEK222m ($24.5m) from 2024’s SEK2.3bn ($256.1m). The company’s operating margin expanded from 31% to 33% year-over-year.
The board approved a dividend of SEK1.8bn ($198.96m) to the Swedish government, marking an increase from the previous year’s distribution.
“The end of the year is characterised by a continued positive earnings trend and we are exceeding our financial targets for 2025,”
said Anna Johnson, CEO of Svenska Spel.
“The proposed dividend to the owner of SEK1.8bn is an important part of Svenska Spel’s social contribution and reflects the group’s long-term value creation.”
Fourth Quarter Results
Fourth quarter net gaming revenue increased 2% to SEK2.1bn ($235.5m), up from SEK2.01bn ($231.5m) in the same period of 2024. The growth was driven by strong performance across both the lottery and Sport & Casino segments.
Operating profit for Q4 reached SEK641m ($70.9m), a 2% increase from SEK555m ($61.3m) in the prior year quarter.
Digital Growth and Product Performance
Online revenues grew 7% during the year, accounting for 62% of total revenues compared to 60% in 2024. The digital channel expansion reflected continued consumer preference for online gaming platforms.
The company’s Lotto product showed clear growth in Q4 following its relaunch in the third quarter. Net gaming revenue in the Sport & Casino segment rose 2%, supported by the appointment of a new business area manager.
Land-Based Casino Exit
Svenska Spel confirmed it will officially hand over the building that housed its Casino Cosmopol Stockholm location on March 3, 2026. The transfer follows a sale agreement reached in December 2025, part of the Swedish government’s decision to close state-owned land-based casinos.
Svenska Spel operates under license from the Swedish Gambling Authority and holds a monopoly on lotteries and land-based casino gaming in Sweden, while competing with licensed private operators in the online sports betting and casino market.
