Michigan iGaming Revenue Surges 9.8% in August 2025 Reaching $312.54 Million

**DETROIT** – Michigan's commercial and tribal internet gaming operators delivered impressive results in August 2025, reporting combined gross receipts of $312.54 million from iGaming and internet sports betting activities. The figure represents a notable 9.8% increase compared to July's performance, signaling continued growth in the state's digital gaming market.

The figure represents a notable 9.8% increase compared to July's performance, signaling continued growth in the state's digital gaming market.

iGaming Sector Shows Sustained Growth

The iGaming vertical led the charge with gross receipts totaling $263.27 million in August, up from $250.5 million recorded in July. This performance contributed to adjusted gross receipts of $247.2 million for the month, marking a 5.1% increase from the previous month and an impressive 39.8% year-over-year growth.

Sports Betting Demonstrates Strong Recovery

Internet sports betting showed particularly strong momentum, with gross receipts climbing to $49.27 million from July’s $34.1 million. The adjusted gross receipts for sports betting reached $34.2 million, representing a substantial 43.1% month-over-month increase and adding $17.9 million compared to August 2024 figures.

The total internet sports betting handle reached $338.9 million in August, reflecting a 19.9% increase from July’s $282.7 million handle, indicating growing player engagement across the sector.

State Revenue and Regulatory Update

Michigan operators contributed $53.7 million in state taxes and payments during August, while Detroit’s three commercial casinos generated $13.8 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees for the City of Detroit. Tribal operators reported $6.2 million in payments to their respective governing bodies.
