Aristocrat Interactive renews three-year SCML iLottery deal

Aristocrat Interactive has renewed its three-year eInstant supply agreement with Portuguese lottery operator SCML, extending a 13-year relationship.

Aristocrat Interactive has renewed its three-year eInstant supply agreement with Portuguese lottery operator SCML, extending a 13-year relationship.

Aristocrat Interactive has signed a new three-year agreement with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) to continue supplying NeoGames Studio eInstant titles to Portugal’s national lottery operator, extending a partnership that has run for more than 13 years.

Under the renewed agreement, SCML retains access to the full NeoGames Studio eInstant portfolio for its digital lottery platform. Aristocrat Interactive said the supplier will continue providing its existing instant-win library while feeding new titles into the channel through an ongoing content pipeline.

What the deal covers

The contract locks in SCML’s access to NeoGames Studio content for three more years, with a planned release schedule of new instant-win games over the term. Aristocrat Interactive is the online real-money gaming arm formed after Aristocrat Leisure completed its acquisition of NeoGames in April 2024 for an enterprise value of around $1.2bn. The unit consolidated NeoGames’ iLottery, iGaming and online sports betting businesses with the former Anaxi operations under a single brand led by chief executive Moti Malul.

For SCML, the renewal secures a content pipeline at a point when European national lotteries are competing harder for digital share against private online operators. SCML, a centuries-old charitable institution, holds the exclusive concession for state lotteries and instant games in Portugal and channels its gaming proceeds toward social causes.

Executive comments

Chris Shaban, Managing Director of Aristocrat Interactive iLottery, framed the deal as a continuation of an established commercial relationship.

This new agreement underscores the continued success of our long-standing work with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. Together, we will continue to deliver high-performing content that resonates with players, driving long-term value for SCML’s continued digital growth.

Dr. Ricardo Lavos, General Manager of the Games Department at SCML, said the operator was committed to maintaining the supply arrangement.

Our extension with Aristocrat Interactive reflects the strong appreciation Portuguese players have for NeoGames Studio’s high-quality eInstant content. The titles we have at our disposal have been a key driver of our digital offering, and we have full confidence in Aristocrat Interactive’s ability to continue delivering modern, responsible, and engaging experiences that meet our players’ expectations.

European iLottery footprint

Aristocrat Interactive said the SCML renewal reinforces its position in Europe’s iLottery market, where it now supports 18 lottery operators with NeoGames Studio content either live or scheduled to launch. The European iLottery segment remains one of the more concentrated parts of the regulated online gaming market, with national lotteries operating as monopolies or quasi-monopolies in most jurisdictions and a small number of B2B suppliers servicing them.

NeoGames built its iLottery business over more than a decade ahead of the Aristocrat acquisition, supplying state lottery operators across Europe and North America with instant-win games and platform technology. The Portugal contract predates the Aristocrat deal by years and ranks among the supplier’s longest-running European engagements. European gross gambling revenue reached €123.4bn in 2024, with online channels and iLottery flagged as among the faster-growing segments by industry analysts.

iLottery as Aristocrat’s regulated online bet

The renewal lands as Aristocrat continues to integrate NeoGames into its broader interactive division. Aristocrat’s chief compliance officer Tracey Elkerton said in late 2025 that the integration had progressed through aligning leadership, governance and reporting structures, with iLottery positioned as one of the entry points for further expansion across regulated online verticals.

For Aristocrat, the iLottery vertical offers regulated, long-tenor contracts with state operators, set against the higher-churn dynamics of the commercial iGaming segment. The company has identified iLottery, iGaming and online sports betting as the three pillars of its Aristocrat Interactive growth strategy, with European expansion forming a core part of the build-out.

The three-year term means the SCML pipeline runs through to 2029, with new NeoGames Studio releases set to feed into Portugal’s digital lottery channel over the life of the contract.
