Poland’s Ministry of Finance has added a new Totalizator Sportowy online slots service to its list of legal online gambling offers. The entry covers games on gaming machines only and states that the service is in a test phase until 15 October 2026, after which wider access to Polish players is expected.
The register entry
The state-owned operator now holds four domains on the ministry’s list, all under Totalizator Sportowy Sp. z o.o. (KRS 0000007411): one for its online casino, lotto.pl and gierki.pl for number games and cash lotteries, and the new domain for games on gaming machines. The new line is the only one carrying a date, with the note that the service remains in testing until 15 October.
Under the Gambling Act of 19 November 2009, games on gaming machines are a separate category from casino games and include online games that follow slot machine rules. According to the Ministry of Finance’s overview of the gambling system, such games are legal online only when offered by the company that runs the state monopoly.
Second brand inside the Totalizator Sportowy monopoly
Since 2017 online casino games in Poland have been reserved for Totalizator Sportowy, which until now ran a single online casino brand. The new service does not open the market to private operators. It is a second brand owned by the same state company.
Totalizator Sportowy’s press office said in August that the service runs on the group’s own technology platform, will launch with several hundred slot games and no live dealer tables, and will be opened to players in stages after testing with selected users, according to Polish trade portal iGaming Polska (24 August 2026). The company said the aim was to move players from illegal sites to a supervised offer, not to attract new players, and that it plans to work with games suppliers, including Polish studios.
Earlier sources had pointed to December 2025 as a possible launch date, iGaming Polska reported, and the project was postponed because the platform was not ready.
Why the brand name is not printed
TGE does not publish the domain names of the two casino services. Advertising and promotion of games on gaming machines is banned in Poland, and the ministry notes that anyone placing or benefiting from such advertising faces liability under Article 110a of the Fiscal Penal Code. The ban applies to the state monopoly’s brands as well as to offshore sites.
Channelisation is the test for the new brand. Poland blocks unlicensed domains through its register of illegal gambling sites, but offshore casinos still compete with a single legal casino operator. Other European monopolies are under review: Hungary’s new government is reviewing the Szerencsejáték Zrt monopoly and a leaked Austrian draft law would end the online monopoly.
Next steps
The test phase ends on 15 October 2026, when the ministry’s note lapses. Totalizator Sportowy has not named its game suppliers or published a launch date for full access. For B2B studios, the supplier list will show how much of the Polish monopoly’s slots content goes to local and international providers. More Polish market coverage is in our Central Europe archive.
