Stake Denmark managing director Peter Eugen Clausen has left the role, according to a LinkedIn post reported by InterGame Online on 19 October 2026. Clausen ran VinderCasino as CEO from September 2022 and led the Danish launch of Stake, the Easygo brand, after it bought the operator in January 2025.
What Clausen said
Clausen listed his work as building VinderCasino, selling it to Stake, securing the regulatory approvals and leading the launch of a new platform in Denmark.
After investing so much energy, passion and commitment into building VinderCasino, selling the company to Stake, securing the necessary regulatory approvals and subsequently leading the launch of a new platform in Denmark, my time as managing director of Stake Denmark has now come to an end.
Peter Eugen Clausen, former Managing Director, Stake Denmark, in a LinkedIn post
He called the Danish launch “one of the most successful launches Denmark has ever seen”, his own assessment, and said the team built “a solid foundation for the future” in the Danish market. He also described working for a company run from Melbourne, Australia.
Building a business in a highly regulated local market as part of a global organisation headquartered on the other side of the world has been a fascinating experience.

Clausen said he had to balance “global centralisation and local market knowledge”. He closed by saying that “launching new ventures and exploring opportunities in new markets” is what drives him.
Stake’s route into Denmark
Stake announced on 13 January 2025 that it would buy VinderCasino from MocinoPlay, subject to approval by the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden), Gaming Intelligence reported. Terms were not disclosed.
Stake then secured a five-year licence from Spillemyndigheden and went live in Denmark, Gaming Intelligence reported on 19 February 2026. The site entered a regulated market that TGE covered in its Denmark iGaming 2025 market report.
Next steps
Stake is also in the next stage of New Zealand’s online casino licensing. The Department of Internal Affairs said 11 entities won the right to apply for the 15 licences on offer in an auction that ran from 29 September to 12 October 2026, and Stake New Zealand Limited is on the list.
Full applications open in October 2026, and winning the auction does not guarantee a licence. Providers without a licence application must stop operating in New Zealand on 1 December 2026.
