Kindred Group Withdraws from Italian Gaming Market
Unibet has permanently closed its operations in Italy effective November 10, 2025, after parent company Kindred Group decided not to renew its gaming license in the market.
The closure means Italian players can no longer access their Unibet accounts. The company has directed existing customers to migrate to Codere’s platform to continue their gaming activities.
Player Migration to Codere Platform
Starting November 10, former Unibet Italia customers can transition to Codere using their existing Unibet email addresses and tax codes as passwords. The migration is being handled through Codere’s dedicated portal at Codere.it/Unibet-migrazione, which operates under GAD Concession 15018.
The company confirmed that player balances and transaction histories from Unibet accounts have been processed according to Italian gaming regulations. Personal data handling will follow applicable data protection requirements.
Strategic Withdrawal from Italian Market
Unibet Italia’s decision not to pursue license renewal represents a strategic withdrawal from one of Europe’s regulated online gaming markets. The Italian market has seen several international operators reassess their positions in recent years amid evolving regulatory requirements and tax structures.
The closure affects all Unibet services previously available to Italian customers, including sports betting and casino products.
Kindred Group, which operates multiple brands across global markets, has not issued a detailed statement regarding the strategic reasoning behind the Italian market exit.
