Danske Spil distributed nearly DKK 10 million in Eurojackpot prizes on Boxing Day, creating two more millionaires just one day after the operator’s Christmas lottery generated 29 millionaire winners.
Second Prize Winner Takes Home DKK 6 Million
The largest Boxing Day win went to a player from Syddjurs Municipality, who matched five winning numbers plus one star number to claim the Eurojackpot second prize of DKK 6,040,095.
A second Danish player secured a third prize worth DKK 3,406,346 by matching five winning numbers without any star numbers. The winning ticket was purchased at OK Plus in Slimminge, located between Køge and Ringsted. Danske Spil has encouraged players who purchased Eurojackpot tickets at that location to verify their entries.
Record Christmas Period for Prize Distribution
The Boxing Day wins conclude an exceptional 48-hour period for Danske Spil prize distribution. On Christmas Day, the operator created 29 millionaires through its Lotto products, including two winners who split a first prize of DKK 5.8 million each, two Millionærchancen winners who each received DKK 1 million, and 25 winners who claimed approximately DKK 1 million each through Det Store Julelotto.
“Over 30 millionaires in two days, that’s enough to get you in the Christmas mood. It’s always a great pleasure to hand out prizes to lucky Danes, and at Danske Spil we are happy every single time a prize is won in our lotteries. Even though it happens every single week that we hand out both small and very large amounts, it’s never an everyday occurrence for us,” said Malene Mølgaard, CEO of Danske Lotteri Spil.
The Christmas period prize distribution also included a DKK 1 million Keno win for a Bornholm player on Thursday evening.
