PokerStars has closed its UK site for gameplay and moved British players onto PokerStars on Betfair, completing the second stage of Flutter Entertainment’s plan to run all its UK poker brands on one PokerStars Betfair platform. The switch took effect on 7 October 2026, according to PokerNews, alongside a new rakeback scheme paying up to 25%.
UK players now reach the same PokerStars tables, tournaments and shared player pools through the Betfair client and apps. Under the PokerStars migration FAQ, the data controller for gameplay accounts changes from TSG Interactive Services (Ireland) Limited to Power Leisure Bookmakers Limited, another Flutter company.
How the PokerStars Betfair move works
Players without a Betfair account sign in to the Betfair client with their PokerStars login. Their balance, Tournament Money (T-Money), tickets and registrations for later tournaments move across once they accept Betfair’s terms, and their PokerStars username becomes their poker nickname, the FAQ states.
All balances are held in British pounds. PokerStars told customers who did not want their funds converted to GBP to withdraw them by 6 October.
Players who already hold a Betfair account keep it and must withdraw their PokerStars money separately. The PokerStars.uk cashier stays open for four weeks after the move; after that the account closes and remaining funds can only be recovered through customer support. Players with an address outside the UK are not transferred and need a PokerStars.com account to keep playing.
PokerStars Casino and PokerStars Sports are also gone in the UK, replaced by Betfair Casino and the Betfair Sportsbook.
Stack+ rakeback
Flutter launched Stack+ with the migration. Players opt in once and earn points on real-money cash games and tournaments across seven levels, with the first rakeback paid at 500 points and the top rate at 25%, according to PokerNews. Points reset each calendar month, players keep their level for the following month, and rakeback carries no wagering requirement.
The Flutter poker strategy is all about finding new ways to bring great poker to more players.
Mike Woodbridge, Chief Commercial Officer, PokerStars, in a statement on the UK migration
Flutter’s poker network plan
Until this year each Flutter brand in the UK ran its own poker product. The first step came on 13 August 2026, when Betfair Poker customers moved onto PokerStars software under the PokerStars on Betfair name and joined the global PokerStars.com player pool. Woodbridge said at the time that “the market environment has gotten harder for brands like PokerStars.”
The model copies what Flutter already does in Italy, where Sisal and Snai players share PokerStars liquidity, and in the US through PokerStars on FanDuel. In September Flutter also opened the PokerStars Network to B2B partners.
Next steps
Paddy Power Poker and Sky Poker are due to replace their own poker products with PokerStars software and join the network in the coming months, PokerStars said when it announced the plan in August. The PokerStars.uk cashier is set to close four weeks after the 7 October switch, in early November 2026.
