bet365 was the most downloaded online sports betting app in Spain between September 2025 and February 2026, according to data from analytics firm Sensor Tower.
The operator’s app holds a 4.5 star rating across more than 228,000 reviews, a figure bet365 says makes it the country’s most popular sports betting app. The company pointed to the app’s range of betting markets, in-play features and navigation as factors behind the download numbers.
Brand recognition climbs alongside downloads
A separate study by YouGov found bet365 to be Spain’s most recognised online betting brand overall, with 47% awareness. The operator said recognition was particularly strong among 18 to 34 year olds, where it ranked above competing brands.
bet365 said the figures reflect its established position in the Spanish market, where it has continued to invest while operating under the country’s regulatory framework for online gambling.
“To be named as the most downloaded Online Sports Betting App in Spain is a source of great pride for all at bet365. It is testament to bet365’s continuous global commitment to innovation and delivering a world-class product.” — Alex Sefton, global chief marketing officer, bet365
The app performance data lands shortly after bet365 raised its Open Account Offer in Spain, increasing the matched amount in Bet Credits from €100 to €200 for new customers, effective from 26 May 2026.
French licence adds to European push
The Spanish figures arrive as bet365 expands its footprint elsewhere in Europe. The operator secured a licence from France’s Autorité Nationale des Jeux under licence number 0067-PS-2026-04-16-AGR-00, valid for five years from 16 April 2026, allowing it to launch a sportsbook on the bet365.fr domain ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Online poker and horse race betting are expected to follow in later phases of the French rollout.
bet365 currently operates in more than 60 regulated markets and remains an Official Global Partner of the UEFA Champions League under a sponsorship that runs until 2027.
Jackpot365 rollout continues
The operator has also been expanding its product range ahead of the World Cup. Jackpot365, an in-house progressive jackpot feature built into the sports betslip, has paid out close to £50m across more than 112,000 wins since its December 2025 launch on bet365 Casino.
The feature, which offers four progressive jackpots, is now live on sports betting in the UK, the Netherlands, Sweden and Ontario, with Brazil and Michigan set to follow. bet365 has described it as the first product of its kind from a major bookmaker.
Competitive pressure ahead of the World Cup
The Sensor Tower and YouGov figures position bet365 as a dominant player in Spain’s mobile betting market at a point when rivals are also pushing for visibility ahead of the summer’s football calendar. Spain’s online gambling market reported €405m in GGR in the third quarter of 2025, with casino products accounting for a growing share of activity.
bet365’s continued expansion also follows a broader pattern of operators pursuing new licences across Europe ahead of the World Cup, including recent coordination among European regulators on cross-border oversight. With Jackpot365 set to expand into further markets and the French sportsbook preparing to launch, bet365’s positioning over the coming months is likely to draw close attention from both competitors and regulators alike.
