SiGMA World Rome moves to May from 2027

SiGMA Group shifts its Rome show from November to May to space Europe's three main gaming events about four months apart.

SiGMA Group will move SiGMA World Rome to May from 2027, shifting the show out of its November slot to leave about four months between the three largest European gaming events in Rome, Barcelona and Lisbon, the organiser said in an announcement.

The decision follows feedback from clients, exhibitors and industry partners who asked for the European calendar to be spread more evenly through the year, according to SiGMA’s announcement. It comes days after the 2026 edition of SiGMA World Rome closed in the Italian capital, the last to run in November.

Why SiGMA World Rome is moving to May

SiGMA said the four-month spacing gives companies more time to prepare for each show, set budgets, meet clients and get a return on what they spend to attend.

The group described the change as part of a plan to cut event fatigue and give the sector a more predictable calendar as the number of conferences and exhibitions grows.

We have listened and taken the bold decision to move our show to May. We’ve taken this decision in the best interest of the industry.

Eman Pulis, Founder, SiGMA Group

The organiser said it wants each summit to feel like “a major occasion, not just another date in an overcrowded calendar,” and that reaching a balanced calendar requires organisers to be willing to change their own dates.

Outdoor space to triple in 2027

The May date also brings warmer weather, which SiGMA plans to use to triple the outdoor footprint of the Rome show in 2027. The extra space will hold networking, entertainment, hospitality and community areas, turning more of the event into an open-air festival alongside the exhibition floor.

Next steps for the 2027 World Tour

SiGMA said it is also reviewing the timing of its other international events against market demand, and will publish the full SiGMA World Tour 2027 calendar soon. Tickets and exhibitor information are available on the SiGMA World website. More coverage of the group’s shows is in our Announcements section.
